ebroker: Cybersecurity tips

For us information security is a key aspect and, for that same reason, we are continually implementing measures that improve the security of the systems that make up our suite ebroker. However, you should be aware that the vast majority of attacks arise from fraudulent access through end users of the applications, which is why today we bring you a series of tips to reduce hackers' access to your information:

  • Phishing: Phishing is a technique used by hackers to trick users into obtaining confidential information, such as passwords and personal data. Educating your employees to recognize suspicious emails and messages is crucial. They should avoid clicking on links or downloading files from unknown sources. It is advisable to always verify the authenticity of requests for personal or financial information. Using email filters and anti-phishing tools can help reduce the risk.
  • public WiFis: Connecting to public Wi-Fi networks can expose data to significant risks. It is preferable to use secure and encrypted Wi-Fi networks, especially when handling sensitive information. If you must use a public network, a VPN (virtual private network) can provide an additional layer of security by encrypting all internet traffic. It's important to make sure your home or office Wi-Fi network is protected with a strong password. Reviewing and updating router settings periodically is also advisable.
  • Passwords: Do not leave your passwords in visible places (example: post-it) and as much as possible use trusted mechanisms to store your passwords. On the other hand, use passwords that mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, special characters and that have a minimum length of 8 characters.

Together, we will reduce the risk of access to our most precious business asset: the data.
