Last Thursday, we held a joint presentation with Total Energy, in which all the details of the alliance with the multienergy company that will materialize with the incorporation of its products in the Marketplace Merlin. With this, the insurance brokers who use the platform will expand their marketing capabilities through diversification towards new products that add value and customer loyalty in their main insurance mediation business.

The advisory capacity and professionalism of insurance brokers constitutes an opportunity for TotalEnergies to distribute, through this channel, essential consumer products such as energy, a service of undoubted strategic value for individuals and companies in the coming years.

The session, which was attended by almost 200 insurance brokers, began with Higinio Iglesias, CEO of ebroker, highlighting that, “insurance brokers must open our angle of vision and start thinking about working with environments that offer goods and services, evolving from an insurance broker to a service broker”.

Subsequently, Jesús Martín-Angulo, National Director of Face-to-Face Channels and B2C Alliances, put the company's situation in context and highlighted that ''This is a very important project for us, since with ebroker and its Merlin Marketplace, we will be able to transfer our value proposal, through one of the best commercial networks that exist in Spain, in terms of trust with its customers, using a technological platform that will facilitate the activation and management of customers' '.

Alejandro de la Cruz, head of B2C Alliances, highlighted “The network of insurance brokers and brokerages that are part of the ebroker community and the professionalized distribution model they have, knowing their business and their clients very well in the insurance field. Now is the time to use that professionalism and closeness to offer another series of services that allow customers to feel more benefited and have an impact on their loyalty”.

For his part, Pedro Ramos, head of Project Engineering at ebroker, spoke about the advantages for users of working with TotalEnergies and how joining Merlín fits into the activity of the insurance broker. Later, he introduced José María Calvo, head of Energy at the ebroker, who will be in charge of attending to this line of business and being the direct link between the brokers and the company.

Loreto Mayordomo, Director of B2B Sales Asturias of TotalEnergies presented, as a first step in this alliance, a special proposal for the supply of gas and electricity from which ebroker brokerages can benefit directly as users of the service. This will allow them to get to know the product first-hand and have a broader vision of the offer and how the company works to market it among its client portfolio.

Finally, Higinio Iglesias closed the presentation with a reflection on the importance of projects of this type for the channel: “We believe that it is correct, as brokers and a technological platform, to use technology to bring the insurance broker closer to something that is essential at this time. : enter the models of the new economy, the models of diversification, where the customer is at the center and is what is important”.
